There is something deeply beautiful and ancient about Australian eucalypt trees silhouetted at dusk and against the night sky. Their forests are dependent on fire as an essential part of the life cycle and regeneration. Ash is the personification of the devastation brought by fire, where her seeds and flowers can blossom in the new sunlight created in the aftermath.
Available at CONTRAST, a Thou Art Mum exhibition in black and white at The Vines Cafe, Diamond Creek, 1 October to 30 November. Opens Friday 5 October, 6-8pm.
