“I was very happy to see the friendly faces of my surgeons on Monday to take all my troubles away. I sat as still as a statue in the hospital waiting room just hoping I wouldn’t chuck everywhere (Endone). Classy AND fun. I didn’t see any other faces there that I recognised this week. I think that’s one of the strangest things about Melbourne: how a city 100km wide with 5 million people can seem so small. I can not tell you how many bizarre coincidences have happened to me over the years to make it shrink. The chances of two people being in the same place at the same time on the same day should be absolutely minuscule, right? But no, no way, not here in this big Aussie town. Or maybe it’s just that the degrees of separation are getting smaller and smaller in modern society? But I digress…
